MEMS Mixer at IEDM’22

The MEMS-TC organized its 2nd MEMS Mixer during the 68th Annual IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM), a flagship conference in the areas of semiconductor and electronic device technology, design, manufacturing, physics, and modeling. A total of around 100 attendees gathered to enjoy a meal together, learn more about the MEMS-TC’s vision, programs, and activities, and connect with global experts, colleagues, and friends interested in MEMS research and technologies. The invited attendees came from IEDM Technical Program Committee (TPC) and MEMS Session Presenters, Berkeley Sensor and Actuator Center (BSAC), and SF-Bay Area MEMS & Sensors Chapter.

The MEMS Mixer was hosted on December 6th, 2022 at the IEDM hotel (Union Square Hilton in San Francisco, CA) and offered a Reception-style banquet. Three different food stations and many beverage options were served to account for possible dietary restrictions and preferences. The banquet was held during dinner time in the middle of the conference. At the beginning of the event, our President (Prof. Clark Nguyen), explained the benefits of having a technical community that promotes and supports MEMS research through Conferences, Journals, Workshops, etc. and our efforts to become an IEEE Council in the near future. We ended the night with two different options of desserts and a recharged mindset that hopefully sparked ideas and collaborations among the event participants.
